    A short history, six milestones.

    From one Missouri lumberyard to a national building products distributor.

    1. 1868
      Founded

      William Cameron opens a lumberyard in Warrensburg, Missouri.

      Grain, feed and railroad ties to start. The company that became Cameron Ashley grows from this one yard.

    2. 1876
      Merger

      The business moves to Waco, Texas.

      Texas stays home base for more than a century. The Ashley name arrives later, with the purchase of Ashley Aluminum.

    3. 2000
      Expansion

      Guardian Industries acquires Cameron Ashley.

      Then based in Dallas, Cameron Ashley joins Guardian Building Products alongside Builder Marts of America.

    4. 2017
      Network

      Koch Industries completes its acquisition of Guardian.

      Koch took a 44.5% stake in Guardian in 2012 and full ownership in 2017.

    5. 2019
      Private label

      The Cameron Ashley name returns.

      Pacific Avenue Capital Partners acquired the distribution business in 2018. On February 1, 2019 it became Cameron Ashley Building Products.
